Tin Foil Chef

Last night we had the pre-wedding party for Katya and Edrick, which took over the ET kitchen to stage an Iron Chef competition between the Girls Team (with a Boy Traitor) and the Boys Team (with two Girl Traitors, including me - since Edrick pointed out that he does sing my praises to the skies for eating a lemon).

I hope the wedding couple had as much fun as I did. Madly dashing around the kitchen for an hour, fussing with presentation afterwards (a holly wreath of rosemary and craisins!), the Lewd Vegetable Carving (which nearly won both Best Use of Vegetable and Worst Use of Vegetable), writing a three minute sonnet when the party organizer kept pointing out the Boys Team was losing on the poetry side, listening to Roderick and the other judges in their best sarcastic mode ("It's a palate cleanser that just keeps cleansing. Kinda like Drano.")

Affection in the Air Supply!

Well, it's good to know that I can, in a pinch, run Oath without mjperson. Admittedly, it was a light fluffy run, in which I was well served by the players being willing to go along with the goofy bits. I bobbled the beginning a little, trying to let them talk to last run's NPCs without letting this run be "splash about in the detritus of the last run". But it did have Two Mechanics, and the affection interlude was much better where the players accidentally dragged it to than where I had plotted it for.

I'm not sure why I'm so enamored with "fling small items around the table" mechanics, but they seem to work okay.
