Toys I just discovered:
- Distributed Proofreaders
This shares out the workload for scanning, proofing, and formatting public domain books for Project Gutenberg, one page at a time. It's gratifying to fuss with, and closer to my talent (reading fast, looking for typos) than something like wikipedia is right now. Plus it's entertaining to pick up random smatterings of books, like an essay on Aubrey Beardsley and some sort of adventure/romance. If anyone wants to be on a Team with me, let me know! (Okay, maybe competitive proofreading isn't the hobby for everyone).
- Electric Sheep. Oooh. Pretty.
