A dream
I've really enjoyed reading greenstardamage's dream journal, and this was a very vivid (and inexplicable) dream, so I'm writing it down before I forget.

My friend, arolfe, hadn't shown up in a few days. I determined from this that he had probably been kidnapped by servants of the dark gods, because what else could have happened to him? Having some of both Dunyazade's abilities and temperment, I decided that I had to go rescue him. I tried to get SIPB to help me, but they kept ignoring my zephyrs, probably because they were scared of having to go up against the servants of the dark gods. I was pondering trying to find him by iterating over "teleport to Bad Place X, cast distance-and-direction-to-arolfe, teleport back" through all the Bad Places I knew, and hoping that I didn't get killed in the process, and walking away from the Zephyr Booth (where SIPB was still ignoring my messages) across the quad, when a young woman caught up to me.

She introduced herself as arolfe's mother (and, like Iolanthe, seemed far too young to be his mother, but I was down with things like fairies and elves, so didn't doubt her), and said that she had just returned from the Drow Walled City, and had seen there a statue. Inscribed on it was "One of my pants legs was wrought by ancient artificers. The other is long." which I recognized had to be him, because I had said that about his pants once (this was very clever and funny in the dream). So not only had he been kidnapped by the servant of the dark gods, but turned into a statue.

Unfortunately, the Drow Walled City was somewhere I had never been, so arolfe's mother had to brief me. This was actually done by the GM (who was an older guy I didn't recognize) - we walked a little farther across the quad and sat down beside some other guy who was sitting at a chess board table, and the GM started drawing the city, which could only be reached by a very tall bridge from the rest of the Broken Lands. The map just involved making X's in squares of the chess board and circling them many times. I was a little worried that the guy would get upset that we were defacing the chessboard, but I guess you can't get mad at the GM for that, and besides, he was busy labelling his Easter eggs, which were being kept cool next to him in a little fountain like where the dentist has you spit, except that it was filled with water in addition to having water running in and out.

That was when, alas, I woke up, but now I feel a little bad because arolfe is still a statue in the Drow City. :(

Current Mood: awake awake

That's ok, I think I let the Cthuloid plot take over the world in my dream last night.

It was 85% guild game and 15% not. At some point I realized that we were doing pretty well with our plots, and were probably going to succeed. But it was only Tuesday, so clearly I didn't know what everyone was up to if I thought it was ok.

So I said something like "That means the Cthuloid cultists are going to destroy the world. That's too bad, I really like this world."

Sounds like you're channeling the plot for my next run. Stop that! :D

Well, OK, so Celine does have destiny sense, so I guess its OK.

Later, thinking about it, it felt like I had put the Auria people (good guys and bad guys) in the Comet world (with the bad guys living in the Broken Lands), but set it to the map of Lord of the Rings, because the Broken Lands were in the bottom right with mountains around them, like Mordor.
