In the coffee-room at the office, there is a box of Ezekiel 4:9.
A breakfast cereal.

I am mildly stunned by this lack of separation between Church and Breakfast, as it were.

Current Mood: surprised surprised

"And I will strike down upon those with great barley and with furious millet those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know that my name is the Lord when I lay my cracked wheat berries upon thee."

EZE 4:9 Take thou also unto thee wheat, and barley, and beans, and lentiles, and millet, and fitches, and put them in one vessel, and make thee bread thereof, according to the number of the days that thou shalt lie upon thy side, three hundred and ninety days shalt thou eat thereof.

I've seen "Ezekiel bread" for sale hither and thither; it's usually instantiated as a slightly wacky multigrain. Breakfast cereal seems a little wrong, but the context for the whole thing is wacky ...

I've seen the bread too. Combining religion and sandwiches was somehow disturbing so I bought some other brand.

The real question is, is it tasty?

Well, it's poor form to eat other people's food (it's the sort of thing that gets nasty emails sent to the building mailing list) so I cannot actually speak to whether or not the cereal is tasty. :) It claims to be, on the outside of the box, though!

I think this sort of thing is what made Martin Luther nail his little screed to someone's door.

Does it have indulgent marshmallows?

A cereal (or bread) for all those healthier-than-thou holy nuts?

They'rrrrre Great!

There could be a whole line of foods named after Biblical passages. Genesis 25 Pottage. Proverbs 15:17 Spice Mix. 1 Corinthians 5:6 Sourdough Starter.
